Leading the Way in Eco-Friendly 'Paper Dehumidifiers'
As E.S.G. (Environmental, Social, and Governance) emerges as a key concept across all industries, there is a trend towards replacing the silica gel desiccants, which are typically found in the corner of most manufactured goods, with 'eco-friendly paper dehumidifiers.'

Desiccants are widely used in various products including food, such as seasoned seaweed and dried fish, as well as in appliances, shoes, bags, and clothing, where moisture prevention is crucial. In particular, since these products come into direct contact with skin, consumers are becoming increasingly sensitive to the ingredients in desiccants and moisture absorbers.
In Europe, the manufacturing and distribution of products using silica gel has started to be banned (revised EU Directive 98/99/EC), and the U.S. FDA has reportedly advised against using silica gel that does not decompose in soil alongside food or pharmaceuticals.
Particularly, when disposed of, it causes severe pollution to the soil environment due to its strong acidity, and most importantly, it has the issue of re-releasing moisture once the absorbed moisture reaches a threshold.
On the other hand, even now, in South Korea, most companies are still using silica gel materials as desiccants and moisture absorbers in their products under the pretext of cost reduction.
Amidst this, there is a rapidly growing demand for 'eco-friendly paper dehumidifiers,' particularly for the natural pulp-based eco-friendly dehumidifiers produced by Yuishining (CEO Lim Ji-sung, yuishining.com), which are being actively inquired about.
Prominent fashion companies such as Sejeong, K2 Korea, and LF are delicately maintaining their positions as eco-friendly enterprises that protect consumer health, and they are increasingly introducing differentiated eco-friendly materials, even for small components, as part of their E.S.G. initiatives.
Yuishining has been supplying its self-developed 'paper dehumidifier' as a component to fashion companies, positioning itself as a leading E.S.G. company, and is developing and supplying them for various uses including food, appliances, baby products, and household goods. Notably, because the dehumidifier is made of paper material, the brand logo can be printed on it, allowing fashion companies to display their branding. This is aimed at making customers recognize the product as a differentiated high-quality eco-friendly item, even if it may seem trivial. Additionally, they are providing it for moisture removal in LED lighting devices and CCTV.
Yuishining's paper dehumidifiers are made from environmentally friendly materials and are 100% biodegradable, and the product packaging is also made from wood pulp fiber paper bags, ensuring complete biodegradability. Furthermore, when it absorbs moisture, it changes from a hard to a soft state, allowing users to check its moisture absorption status; the packaging of the dehumidifier does not release any contents into the environment, unlike silica gel when damaged.
CEO Lim Ji-sung added, "The paper dehumidifier has been used in Sejeong's 'Well Made' and 'Olivia' brands, which are mid-sized fashion companies leading in the use of eco-friendly materials, for already 8 to 9 years. Yuishining was the first in Korea to supply harmless natural paper dehumidifiers to the fashion sector, and in November 2022, we registered a patent for the 'Pulp Type Dehumidifier Manufacturing Method' (registered patent 10-2464347). Recently, mid-sized outdoor brands and proactive mid-sized fashion companies have started adopting paper dehumidifiers as alternatives to silica gel desiccants. Yuishining aims to specialize as an environmentally friendly lifestyle product company that takes the environment into account, and we are working to replace everyday products with natural eco-friendly materials."
