Eco-friendly 'Paper Dehumidifier' Leads the Way 33!!

Dehumidifiers are widely used in food products such as seasoned seaweed and dried fish, as well as in home appliances, shoes, bags, and clothing, where moisture must be minimized. Especially since these products can come into direct contact with food and skin, consumers have recently become sensitive to the ingredients of dehumidifiers and moisture-absorbing agents.

In Europe, the manufacture and distribution of products using silica gel has begun to be banned (revised EU Directive 98/99/EC), and the US FDA has advised against using non-biodegradable silica gel with food or pharmaceuticals.

In particular, when disposed of, silica gel can cause very serious soil contamination due to its strong acidity, and most importantly, when the absorbed moisture reaches a limit, it has the problem of releasing moisture back out.

On the other hand, most companies in South Korea today are selling products with silica gel materials under the pretext of cost reduction.

Amidst this, the demand for 'eco-friendly paper dehumidifiers' is rapidly increasing, with inquiries about natural pulp-based eco-friendly dehumidifiers from Dihyum being actively pursued.

Renowned fashion companies such as Sejong, K2 Korea, and LF are delicately maintaining their positions as eco-friendly brands that protect customer health, and they are introducing differentiated eco-friendly materials even for small accessories, aligning themselves as E.S.G compliant companies.

Dihyum has been supplying its self-developed 'paper dehumidifier' as an accessory to fashion companies as a leading E.S.G company, and is currently developing and supplying various uses including food, home appliances, baby products, and daily necessities. In particular, as the product is made of paper, fashion companies print their logos on it. Although a dehumidifier may seem trivial, it is meant to help customers recognize it as a differentiated high-end eco-friendly product. Additionally, it is also supplied for moisture removal in LED lighting devices and CCTV.

Dihyum's paper dehumidifier is an eco-friendly product made from environmentally friendly raw materials that is 100% biodegradable, and the product packaging is also made from paper bags of wood pulp fiber, achieving 100% biodegradability. Moreover, when it absorbs moisture, it changes from a hard state to a soft state, allowing the moisture absorption state to be checked, and it has the advantage that, when the dehumidifier packaging is damaged, it does not spill out like silica gel.

The CEO of Dihyum added, "The paper dehumidifier has been used by the medium-sized fashion company Sejong's 'Well-Made' and 'Olivia' brands for 8-9 years. Dihyum was the first to supply natural-friendly paper dehumidifiers that are harmless to humans in the fashion sector, and in November 2022, it registered a patent (Registered Patent 10-2464347) for the 'Pulp-type Dehumidifier Manufacturing Method.' Recently, medium-sized outdoor brands and actively eco-friendly medium-sized fashion companies have started adopting paper dehumidifiers as an alternative to silica gel dehumidifiers. Dihyum is specializing as an eco-friendly daily necessities company that considers the environment and aims to replace everyday products used in real life with natural-friendly materials."
